A new, fair dismissal system has been introduced by the Australian Government as part of the Fair Work system. New dismissal laws took effect on 1 July 2009.

The Industry Solutions Program, an initiative of WorkCover NSW, has identified that there have been a number of incidents where lack of fall prevention systems have contributed to worker injuries.

The Tax Office has published the new ruling on entitlements to fuel tax credits. The purpose of the ruling is to overcome confusion as to which entity is entitled to a fuel tax credit under a hire arrangement.
